Andrea Ciulu is an Italian digital artist, born in Rome in the 1980s.

With a background as a writer and visual artist, Andrea has been working in the creative industries for the last twenty years in roles of creative direction.

His artistic work is an ongoing exploration of the limits of memory and of our perception of reality: a research conducted by exploiting technology and its intrinsic limits, by mixing the familiar with the uncanny, nostalgia with bewilderment.

He has released two major collections, On These Streets and AM, both exploring the possibilities of black-and-white post-photography, merging AI with analogue aesthetics. Another series, Seaborn, is a reminiscence of Andrea’s childhood in a coastal town. He has also experimented with AI video through the short series OTS Mixtape and Daily Bread.

Andrea’s work has been exhibited in Rome, Paris, Berlin, London, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Mexico City.

Andrea Ciulu est un artiste numérique italien, né à Rome dans les années 1980.

Écrivain et artiste visuel de formation, Andrea travaille depuis vingt ans dans les industries créatives, où il a occupé divers postes de direction artistique.

Son œuvre constitue une exploration continue des limites de la mémoire et de notre perception de la réalité, une recherche menée en exploitant la technologie et ses limites intrinsèques, en mêlant le familier à l’étrange, la nostalgie à la perplexité.

Il a publié deux grandes collections, On These Streets et AM, toutes deux explorant les possibilités de la post-photographie en noir et blanc, fusionnant l’intelligence artificielle avec une esthétique analogique.
